HALLELUJAH FOR HAL Standard Schnauzer Adult Male in Richmond, Virginia

My story
All we can say is Hallelujah for HAL!   This boy came from a sad environment from a backyard breeder in rural Tennessee.   He was filthy, scared and shaking like a leaf when we picked up him. This handsome 5 year old 15 pound, Schnoodle (Schnauzer/Poodle) loves other dogs and the only way to help him with this fears and insecurities right now is to be with other dogs.  We are looking for a home where he can feel safe with loving, patient humans and of course, a confident dog that shows him how to live a good life free of fears.  He has never had a toy to play with, one on one attention and never a yard to play in.  Right now he is a flight risk till he learns he is home and safe.  He would always need to be on a double leash outside going to bathroom breaks.  He is not 100% there yet but we have had this boy for just 10 days from his former life of neglect.   Hal is friendly and sweet but he  will nip at you if cornered and feeling fearful when being made to do something that is scary to him.  He doesn’t need to go to a home with children right now.  We do feel that once he is relaxed totally and comfortable in a consistent home environment, then he will never nip again.  If you are dog savvy you understand this in the small dog breeds.  Giant humans coming at them can be intimidating and frightening.  He is loving and he does follow the lead of another secure dog.   We have him in a very skilled foster home who is working with him daily to show him what a real life of love and comfort and security can be.  If you are interested in Hallelujah Hal.   Email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at
